Celebrities_20without_20Makeup

Allusion to Persona,

Carefully honed façade,

Oppressive.

‘Elusion’ of the glare

and

Others’ clear sight,

Imperative.

Reputation’s risked.

Hopes and dreams at stake.

The threat: Reality.

Careful observation would illuminate the truth.

The image people love: Illusion.

Disclosure, loss of luster, verity revealed,

Risky.

Can’t have that.

    Most of us live in fear of being outed for the frauds we are. Those of us who don’t live in such fear are simply delusional. It’s an interesting poem. I love the penultimate line. Can’t have that.
