Step into the storm
And know
This rain
Consecrates
The vessel carrying the soul
Through fears, years, tears.
Absolves
Of judgments
Made for naught or gain.
Cleanses
And forgives
Mistakes, misdeeds, wiswords.
Sanctifies
Without regard
Through favor and with grace.
This rain
Delivers
The muse,
The great I AM.
Step into the storm
And know
This rain.
I AM.
Dear Kim,
What a talented writer you are. Everyone of your poems is so well crafted with words and sentiments that speak volumes. The one on mothers and daughters resonated so clearly with me. My daughter, Megan, and I have gone through all of the stages and have, fortunately, come out the best of friends and each other’s #1 fan. Your poem “Attitude of Plenty” and “YOUth”, I assume are autobiographical .I felt a deep sense of shock and regret when I read them. Regret that I did not know and that a 9 year old girl had to bear all of that herself and pretend that everything was fine. What a marvelous journey you have had from that point and I applaud your strength and courage and motivation to make a wonderful life….and thanks to Ricky, too. I always did like that boy! Thanks for sharing your inner most thoughts and feelings with the world…and keep writing!
I think this my favorite of your poems. I love the intersection of the sacred and natural world. While many will read this and appreciate the theme of redemption, as an artist, I’m also seeing the creative process here: the gift of inspiration, the mystery of how art emerges from the storms in our lives, from our hands and our hearts.
Thanks Kim. Great poem here. In the rain, salvation.
All it needs is stepping in the storm.
All it needs is just sanity, truth.

As an amateur poet and artist, and a drummer, too, I appreciate the way you’ve captured the turmoil that often comes along with creation, and the calm that follows, when the process is done and you find redemption once whatever inner voice insisted on being spoken has had its say.
My Friend, V,
When I see a comment from you, I smile on the inside and out. I appreciate you.
Dear Thom,
Always appreciate your comments and hope each day is a bit better. Blessings!
Sriharsha,
Step. Just step…and thank you.
Dear Asleep,
I see that we are on the same wavelength. Thank you for reading, commenting, connecting.
