Regarding LOVE. Words from Wikipedia:
“Studies have shown that brain scans of those infatuated by love display a resemblance to those with a mental illness. Love creates activity in the same area of the brain where hunger, thirst, and drug cravings create activity. New love, therefore, could possibly be more physical than emotional.”
Ha!
That explains it.
The Heartache.
Did we not break through?
To intimacy?
I loved you.
Crazy love, mad love, heart-racing glad love.
Smiling at the thought of you.
Butterflies when a text came through.
Sweet goodnights, raucous hellos,
Attraction, passion, bedfellows.
Reckless abandon, a jangle of words.
And limbs
And whims
And nerves.
Fear stepped in.
The end.
I loved you.
I thought you loved me too.
Was it true?
…
Coward!
Inspired by Three Word Wednesday…Heartache, Jangle, Reckless
Fear is the third person that ruins many relationships.

Love the way you put things. Couldn’t agree more. Generation after generation after generation…
Ahhhh… “Coward”, raised that poem to a whole new level.
Funny how one word can make all the difference, right Linda?
So very true! Try explaining this to the youth who have not yet learned to understand….
But we all learn it sooner or later, don’t we?
Your tweet asked me to stop by, and I’m glad I did. Nice space you have here!
Thanks, Erica. And I returned the favor. Freefringes is fun.
Thanks! Especially if by fun you mean chopping off three fingers at once with a wayward apple corer.
Well…that’s one way to have fun. :-)
Wow…..An unexpected ending “Coward”. Love is a strong emotion that can lead to varied actions.
Unexpected is always good in the world of poetry, no?
