“Happiness Depends Upon Ourselves”

        ~ Aristotle

Dear Ari,

 When you’re right, you’re right.

 Love, Kim

 ~ CHOOSE ~

~ ? ~

Choose to be happy

To depend on yourself

To find joy by the end of each day.

~

Choose to be honest

To live only the truth

No regrets; ne’er deceive or betray.

~

Choose to be valiant

To look fear in the face

Straighten shoulders; lift your chin and love.

~

Choose to be brilliant

To let your light so shine

That the Gods seek you out, from above.

~

This

Is to live.

Choose.

The significance of the time of year eluded me, V. You see — what needs to be written finds its way, though one vessel or another. Thanks for the continuing support.

Wasn’t he the one who was married to Jackie Kennedy? No wait…

That’s a fine list, but easier to write than to live, I’ll bet. Still, it helps to have a good target to aim towards. :-)

      Shay,
      You made me laugh!
And don’t you find that most goals are easier to write than live? But writing them out strengthens one’s commitment to achievement. Akin to a contract with oneself, I guess.

Inspiring words that we should choose to re-visit once in a while when we need a little push!

Thank you for visiting The Friday Forgotten and linking your post. Your imagination and creativity should never lie dusty in a dark corner of your blog. We are happy to help clear away the cobwebs.

You and Aristotle are so correct. I think that the choice lays mainly in the individual. There are the exceptions but I am a look on the Brightside kind of person. Thank you for sharing such words of wisdom in such a lovely poem.

So many choices in life. We can hope we make the right ones most of the time. I choose happiness, too, most of the time.

    love it,

happiness is a blink away, it depends on our attitude.

    beautiful delivery.

    Kim,

Very sound advice from your poetic words!

    Best wishes, Eileen

That the gods seek you out, from above – made my eyes pop out for a second. For me, that line is particularly striking.
