Swallow it down
turn him ON
Bright!

Cast out the shadows
the dark, dank
Blight

Flip it
Switch it
Illuminate the night

I AM incandescent
Join my brilliance
Join my fight

Let’s consume the darkness
Absolve others
Eat, breathe light

Cast out demons, open hearts,
bask in warmth
For all the right

Reasons

Until     darkness
Comes     again
Hungry

I love the beat of this poem – you have controlled the tempo with remarkable skill.

Kim- I also love the beat… and the shift in the middle. Someone once said we need to make those spiritual deposits so we’ll be prepared when the darkness comes.

That must be true, Laurie; as I often note the cyclical nature of the highs and lows, the challenges and successes. If the deposits are banked, bankruptcy can never occur.

Wow. “until darkness comes again hungry.” Powerful, kiddo. I love the offered illumination:)

  7.

These are powerful words that exalt the light within and around us. Love the idea of starved darkness.

Beautiful! I love the form this takes, and the beat… and light eats up darkness – yeah!

  9.

Your words definitely resonate with me!

I thought this was going to end sweetly…. but until darkness comes again, hungry. Let’s hope the light can be switched on quickly! :)

I had to read this one several times, just to wrap my head around it. I love how you make your words obey your commands!
