Endure The Self

Bloodied, battered, bested by
Forces from within
Nothing from the outside
Holds the power,
Could begin,
To destroy
Self
The way
Self
Can

Kinky, mad, maleficent
Unholy
To be sure
Nevertheless,
Tender hearts against their own foul ways
Must inure
And endure

Yes, we are our own worst enemy. Doubt, uncertainty, faithlessness, envy and many more adversaries and all within us. A wonderful insightful poem.
