Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
~ Robert Frost, 1920
Crazy?
A soapbox
Others find unorthodox.
Staking a claim
That goes against the grain.
Risking. Failing. Enduring. Pain.
Doing it all again.
Crazy.

I just loved the last para…….wonderful!
The last paragraph was the first to emerge!
Refinement. Yes. The older I get, the more I see it.
Both literally and figuratively!
Oh, man. LOVE this!
This is a brilliant cry for the right to BE. So many conform to what is expected.
Your approach is very much like mine…great minds and such!! ;)
I just love that this craziness that you speak of that it results in a refined soul. Beautiful writing, Kim!!
Oh, YES, Kim. I can understand this.
“Risking. Failing. Enduring. Pain.
Doing it all again.
Crazy.”
O Wonderful. The first entire stanza tripped off my lips as if in a banjo piece–and then the break–and I like the idea of rows as in “an easy row to hoe”–I think the ending is true (the part after the pause), but for me the most fun is in stanza one.
right on! love the rhymes, this sounds as great as its message feels. and you are right, we can’t forget Patsy either!
Rough roads lead to a refined soul…yes, life surely uses its sandpaper on us. Love it!
LOVE “rough roads lead to refined soul”. That just about says it all. Wonderfully!
