He

Let’s

Ponder

The Notion

Of The Great Creation…

Do you think that existence began this way?

With God making sketches in books?

Did She sit up above, in a heav’nly café,

And plan out uniqueness’s? Nooks?

Were patterns determined or did they emerge

As She played with ideas flowing fast?

Did it all come together, in an energy surge?

And were we, in Her likeness, really last?

Or did she plan us first, then conjure the rest

So that we would adore and obey?

Then wait ‘til the universe looked its best

Before opening Eden to play?

And in the end

It was good.

I wonder,

Was it all

For our

Pleasure

Or Hers?

And does it even matter?

The line between here and there,

Madness

Sanity

This dimension

Not

Is blade-of-grass thin.

We walk it, We Women of Grace.

Seers and Sensitives,

Balanced on our own centers,

Disregarding jitters of the world,

We know.

Adamant about a life she knew she could create

She focused not on here, now, truth; began to fabricate

A storyline, connection-filled, that spoke of great success

A family tree, community, no violence, duress

She left behind the hardships, the people who’d mistreat

Forgot about the nay-sayers whose goal was her defeat

She moved across the country. She got a new address.

She changed her name, enrolled in school, vowed never to confess

The peculiar caste from which she rose

The brutal chapter, finally closed.

Did not God’s fingers,

Like mine,

Paint the purple mountains majesty

The blue earth’s sea to shining sea

The sky o’er us

Below He/She?

If this is true

Indeed

How can you

Deny

My Divinity?

Really~

You can’t.

I AM.

And you, friend, foe,

Are Too.

You breezed into my life

Gentle,

Warm,

Blustery on occasion,

Sharing moods and meals and deals,

Belly laughs, giggles and squeals.

Mellow and relaxed,

You then taught me to be.

Hallelujah!

I AM lucky,

Tickled,

In fact,

To call you

Friend.

BIG.

It is just so ~

This relationship of ours,

Threatening to usurp

All others,

Which,

At times

Seems grand,

But would in reality

Create some havoc

And imbalance.

So Let us maintain perspective,

Admit it’s possible,

That this

Big Love

Is not all that it takes

Is not everything

~ and then some ~

Even if it feels

As if it could be

Oh yes! We each and every one

Taste bitter and taste sweet.

First grimace, pull back in dismay,

Then take it in, replete.

In separateness they overwhelm,

They knock us off our feet.

But if we live with open heart,

The two will often meet.

This juncture, where the healing starts

And where the burning ends

The site of earnest learning,

The place we make amends.

It’s here we learn what’s ours is ours

And others’? Leave to them.

Without malice, judgment, ire or blame

We live, learn;

We ascend

To the pinnacle of our potential.

I considered photographing the image reflected in my screen, but opted for an in-progress shot of one of my paintings so as not to garner a higher than PG rating. :-)

About to jump into the shower as

The muse struck

I ran, naked, to the keyboard

And wrote the five syllable line

That would otherwise have dissipated with the hot steam.

While sitting there,

My sunlit torso reflected back at me in the screen, bare.

“It is beautiful,” I thought.

Yes.

The breasts are slack,

The neck, weather-worn,

Décolletage, mottled with spots.

But it is utterly feminine and firm and strong

And safe within lies the heart of a lion

A big, bold, beautiful lion

Who, in her nakedness, really needs a shower.
