Deep Blue

Deep Blue Sea

Deep Blue

Battered and abandoned
In a private
Deep Blue
Sea

Caught in currents
Tossed, turned, tumbled
Slapped away
Viciously

But between the thunderous crashing
Profound silence, undertow
Know
You’re not alone

Hear!
See!

You lift, updraft and buoy
As you seek breath at the top
Paired with forces, primal, flowing
Prompting others
Not to stop

Trying.
To succeed.
To be
Free.

A man in his 90’s (he died at age 99) told me of the night he fell in the bathroom. As he dusted himself off, still laying on the floor, he looked up and saw that message, in, as he said, “big block letters going around the room.”
I often wondered if he really did have that experience or if he would tell it as encouragement. It seems that some of the best encouragers are those who have overcome and are loving to tell their story.
Kim, you did good telling this one.

Depression is a horror. If we remember this truth and are willing to come up for air, Life is possible. Thank you.
