Daily snippets of observation
Ordinary moments of grace

He limped past
through the desert
front right leg stiff, straight
gash, just above shoulder.
A clash with fellow Canis latrans?
Or did human beast intervene?

Loved since 18
Today
Fifty four
Still incites
This heart to roar
How lucky

I feel you.
Here. Now.
Even though
Your today began
Eighteen hours ago

It’s clear
We’ve met before
As logic
Defies
This connection
Otherwise

Whose hand put to paper
red sable hair, saturate
with pigment
dark
yet not?

Whose mind first created
your image in sepia
tones earthy
raw
well-thought?

Whose eye deviated
from photo, modern media
to render
bird
here caught?

Who
really
is The Creator?

*I tried in vain to locate the identity of the artist who created this simple yet striking image that flits unattributed through cyber-space.
I felt sad at the creator’s loss, like that of a child-abandoned mother.

“I put my heart and my soul into my work, and have lost my mind in the process.”

~ Vincent van Gogh

Short sharp strokes of pigment and sweat

Create the scene before you

Yet

It’s different.

Sparks and electricity

Chemical and energetic eccentricity

Imbue you with vision peculiarly

Unique to your wondrous mind

And time.

Brilliance

Madness

Illness

Sadness

So many possible impetuses

Behind the canvases

Of

Vincent the Sublime
