Unraveling.
I AM but a remnant of myself
Tattered, left to jostle over rugged terrain.
You
Coward or Courageous?
Tore away
Took me by surprise.
Cut from the cloth of a solid family man
Abandonment seemed not to be your guise.
There were no lies, no harsh replies, no wandering eyes, other woman’s sighs.
Didn’t know, but now I do, sometimes love just dies.
Realize
I expected
One day
To be alone
When fragrant bouquets and Green Day’s
“Good Riddance”
Ushered one soul or the other to the heights.
But this was not in sight.
Nothing’s stitched up tight.
It’s not right.
I AM but a remnant of my self
Good thing I AM also one hell of a seamstress.
