la Lune

Tucson’s winter moon
peaks down at desert life
chilling deepest night
∞
silver, solid clouds
untorn
keep Sonora desert warm
but on this night
all take flight
forlorn
waxing winter moon
quite bright
reflecting Sol’s revealing light
sandy floor, with shadows
does adorn
loudly, lucidly
marauders warn
as they form
their posse-pack-swarm
some
inevitably
will mourn
*Inspired by Samuel Peralta at dVerse Poets Pub and his lively explanation of la Lune
Haiku Triptych ~ Arbor’s Shadows

Infused with tones, hues
Serene, sublime, the path fools
Predator hides, waits
Within fresh green, gold
Hidden by nature, beauty, bold
He captures, sedates
Beyond garden’s edge
Shadowed and dewy, the ledge
Where remains her fate
Pay attention

at this moment
can I focus on anything else
when towhees and sparrows
dance?

Clouded is my morning
Not my vision
Or my mind
Clarity a gift, earned

In the calm warmth
of my solitary day
I realize
I like it this way

Best to understand the mood
Than alter the view

Gin and juice
Calming produce
When taken in wee amounts

Clouds soften desert sky
Slowing pace of love and I
Offering a reason why
not? lie about and sigh…
It is good.

prompted fresh rust, corrosion

Daunted
I emerged valiant
Challenged
I emerged

In the light of a new day
Yesterday’s disappointments
Are mere shadows of themselves
If I shine my light
They disappear

Grows literal
If nurtured

Thrasher’s melody
Sings me from the ecstasy
Of sunrise slumber
