On bench beneath magnolia’s boughs
we overcame fatigue
sat closely, hands entwined like vows
commitment promising
Momentous this occasion proved
concreting years en coupled
no other have I ever loved
together, rapture doubled

my heartfelt response

to the world’s worst haircut

thank God it grows fast

Night
was not my friend
devoured peace
entangled

Night was when wicked came
with belt or beer-breath
void of shame

Night was when vile emerged
taunting, haunting
pushed to the verge

Night was when the options, poor
ran through my mind
dared me to unmoor

Night was when I’d pray to sleep
Eternally
Forever deep

Night

That was then
This is
Now

We are friends
Made peace somehow

I am free

Me

She has that unique quality.
You’ve seen it…
Up early in the morning; set to take on the world
Spring in her step, jiggle in her jog.
Fears nothing. Loves it all. Glides through the world, pure confidence.
How wondrous.

Phantom…

… Just a shadow

A wisp of my true self…

That’s all I offer up the world to see.

Comprising my complete identity.

But all it takes is open eyes

A pure heart

Aim, malice-free

For another to see

The beauty that is me ~

Spiritually

A woman of serenity
