Despite hail, rain and thunderstorms
You seek the sun
Flex, arch, open, til day is done
You fight pests, vermin, turning worms
Disregard all threats, anger, harms

I AM currently reading The Reluctant Saint ω The Life of Francis of Assisi by Donald Spoto. It is, indeed, enlightening.
Make me a channel of your peace. Where there is hatred let me bring Your Love. Where there is injury, your pardon, Lord. Where there is doubt true faith in you. Oh, Master, grant that I may never seek so much to be consoled as to console, to be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love with all my heart…

Dare spring forth,
Brilliant or not,
To illuminate
The dank, dreary corners
Of this writer’s barren mind.
Perhaps a glass of rich, red wine
Will spark a flame, cast shadows,
Burn through stalled trains of thought,
Release ideas
And let Sappho
Sere wonder
Onto
Page
I know tradition tells us
On day seven we must rest
But really
Do you think God disowns me
If each day I live my best?
If I waken with a thankful heart
And praise creation always,
Appreciate each little part
Of my life, loves and callings?
You see, I view it differently
I think my God is pleased
With each heart trained on kindness, grace, love,
Connections, people, pets
And lilies
Of the field.
The loyal forces of opposition,
To their loss,
Keep me honest and right.

Without them,
Remembrance of true derivation
Would likely be driven from sight.
~
But the forces e’er challenge,
Cause questions and quests,
Compel self-reflection, insight.
~
Though discouragement, anger, defeat
Be their aim
I am strengthened and steeled in my might.
~
So oppose mighty forces.
Give me all that you’ve got
And I’ll battle back stronger, despite.
~
For I know I’m Divinity,
Know I Am God,
Know that I spring from The Light.
