In the garden I AM reminded

My role is to love

My charge ~ to accept

When I embrace my divinity, I recognize my humanity.

In my humanity, I recognize yours

Francis was right…

Console ~ Understand ~ Love ~ Give ~ Forgive

Then move on

Move up

Toward Light

Lightness

Enlightenment

As it was alway meant

To Be

I AM currently reading The Reluctant Saint  ω The Life of Francis of Assisi by Donald Spoto. It is, indeed, enlightening.

Make me a channel of your peace. Where there is hatred let me bring Your Love. Where there is injury, your pardon, Lord. Where there is doubt true faith in you. Oh, Master, grant that I may never seek so much to be consoled as to console, to be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love with all my heart…

Inner peace is not, I’ve learned, this body’s natural state

Though it is mine.

So gently,

gently,

O v e r    g r e a t   s p a n s   of   s p a c e   a n d   t i m e,

I’ve coaxed it in.

Opening every moment

Every little bit of soul

Offering invitation, invocation

Peace ~ Serenity

So I can become whole.

Enlightened.

As I AM meant to be.

In a morn, by break of day

I spied the flighty, sweet sashay

~ The Lepidoptera ballet ~

Full swing in my back garden.

~

Blossoms, few, held stronger sway

Enticing troupes forth, straightaway

To plunder, rush, invade, foray

Full swing in my back garden.

~

If I removed to cut bouquet

The flowers near the cool breezeway

Then nature’s dance I would betray

Full swing in my back garden.

~

So I shall simply stay and spy

As miller, moth and butterfly try

To sup-up nectar like a parched barfly

Cavorting in my back garden.

Beneath the sweet Acacia tree

I stood and listened to the bees

Content, it ne’er occurred to me

To be frightened.

The bees and I, we have a pact

They do their job, I do not act

In ways that negatively impact

The good they do in my garden.

I talk to them, they buzz replies

They pollinate, they land and rise

In clouds of industry toward skies,

Bright blue and welcoming.

We are a good team.

I AM happy.

Be brilliant. Be bold,

Bouyant, benevolent, brave.

Be not benighted*.

*benighted ~ adj. : existing in a state of intellectual, moral, or social darkness : unenlightened.

I love the notion of resembling honeybees– pleasantly industrious, hugely and beautifully impacting the world, all that pollinating and honey-making. I love it a lot!

Outdoors, in my garden

I must have uttered

“I love it here”

A dozen times today

Under my breath

To the dogs

To the breeze

To the bees

And there were  lots of them…

I said it again

“I love it here!”

And it was still so
