Transitions

Transitions
Places where we choose direction change

Transitions
Spaces we embrace, release, set free

Transitions
Times and cycles, ends and starts, new range

Transitions
Moments when one learns to truly be

Dear Ones,

I am in transition. Again. Happily.

The Good Husband and I built a dream home a decade ago, perfect in time, space, place. And now it’s not. So we’re leaving. We sold the rural beauty, bought a mid-century home in a central location and begin renovations in a couple of weeks. In the meantime, I’m making design decisions, lining up contractors and minimizing possessions. The process is wondrous and wonderful, demanding and exhausting; so I’m careful to include a daily yoga practice, meditation and pleasure reading in my routine.

I’ve had little opportunity to write or make art, but this frustration is temporary. Once settled into the guest house of our new home, I’ll resume a regular writing /creating schedule that will include updates on renovations, garden and landscape developments and new adventures as I enjoy walking out my front door to explore the University, downtown, new yoga studios, The Drawing Studio, The Poetry Center and lots of restaurants, bars and coffee shops. I AM one happy woman! And I have a lot to share.

If you’ve not yet subscribed to my site, please do so by clicking here or using the options in my upper right sidebar.  Much of what I’ll post here in the upcoming months won’t be linked to poetry prompt sites or other venues and I don’t want to lose track of you. I’ll also begin art giveaways, which you won’t want to miss.

In All Truth

I AM
In all truth
The only one I can save
Try as I might
Despite
Early development of codependent
Jesus Complex
Others are not my projects
“Thy will be done”
Takes on all new meaning
Acceptance and Unconditional Love
Become the goals
First of self
Then growing,
Glowing
Light
Into the world
The only one I can save
In all truth?
I AM.

One

One

Starts there
We all do
Even twins deny something the other

One

love
direction
life
day at a time
step ahead
foot
in front of the other

Thus we enter
So, we leave

One
Solitary life
Striving

Mastered

Chameleon, I mastered early

Authenticity? Years to attain

Lacking a soul nurtured fondly
Self love came
First

Once  fiercely and tenderly caring for me
Became the norm
I could see

The way
Loving unconditionally

From fear
Finally free

Let Us Blind Fools

A few days ago my friend and mentor,  Sherry , challenged us to write about our inner Wild Women. Reading my fellow poets’ responses taught me more, helped me more, than most other recent endeavors. We are a powerful crew! This poem was borne of those readings, along with gratitude and appreciation for gifts and talents that abound.

When we embrace
uniquenesses
and let our lights shine
bright
the brilliance enlightens
selves, each other
illuminates the way
for souls, younger
and blinds the fools

everybody wins
